Cross Country Cup Calendar

- Local and County matches midweek during September/October
- Week beginning 2nd November – 9 Regional Finals
- Saturday 5th December | Cross Country Cup Final – Ratcliffe College, Leicestershire.

This competition is based on the 2026-27 school year with age-groups operating from the end of that year on 31st August 2027 at midnight.
JUNIORS – must be Over 12 and Under 14 years of age.
INTERS – must be Over 14 and Under 16 years of age.
SENIORS – must be Over 16 and Under 19 years of age.
The Cup Final is normally held on the first Saturday in December and this year is being hosted by Ratcliffe College, Leicestershire. Anyone who would like to offer to stage the CUP FINAL in the future should contact the ESAA Cross Country Cup Coordinators, via the Contact-Us page.
Yes, this is very much an inter-school competition. Only individual schools can enter teams in the Cross Country Cup. Entries must be submitted by the closing dates identified in the competitions area of the website. This is not a competition for club based teams or individual athlete entry. A minimum of four school runners are required for each team.

Yes. The ESAA benefits from registration with England Athletics which requires school teams to be accompanied at ESAA events by a teacher from that school. See relevant UK Athletics Insurance Documents which can be downloaded – UKA Insurance – 2025-26 – County School Associations
